Has anyone swapped the pinion flanges from a car and a truck? I obtained a 3.73 pumpkin with the correct axle spline count, but the pinion flanges are different. Will they swap?

Yes I have done that. I put a car 3.9 in my 46 and switched it to a truck flange. The diff end of the flange was the same.

That's now we did it. Proper size socket and the 1/2in impact. Might be a cotter pin to remove too.

I agree with Ed that it's possible. I too have done it. A good inpact gun will be the easiest to get the nut off, but I've also had luck by clamping the flange in a sturdy vice and using a breaker bar with an extension pipe. You may also need a puller to pull the flange off of the pinion. They tend to stick themselves on fairly tight.
