Man,  I am JEALOUS of your dashboard!  She looks like she has great bones!  Minimal Rust and mostly straight body panels. Gonna be a GREAT project! Welcome aboard!

Ive been torn on doing the faux wood finish on the dash - seen some YouTube videos on recreating it.  Also all the inside door trims/window trims need the same - be a lot of work to recreate that.  Otherwise yes the dash is great shape and when parked everything was working, even the factory AM radio.

Had a thought of a deep silver or medium metallic grey on them, since I wanna go pearl white with some purple on the outside with grey/silver seat and door panels with purple accents.

Z engine huh. Didn't see that coming. I will admit those z engines are a good engine, but what is the weight difference between the Z and the 218 that came with it? Will it affect the front end handling if the Z engine is lighter as I suspect it might be? Quick ref says the Z engine weighs about 250-350 lbs. The six looks about 450-550. But just a guess since I can't find actual specs on either. Might just have a gasser with the weight difference LOL.

Unsure as of yet on weight and balance.

Once engine and associated 4 speed is in, might throw the balance and weight off.

I have plans either way ??

Not sure less weight on the nose of the car is a bad thing.  While I am not certain what the front to rear weight bias is on our old stuff.  I did notice that the stock flathead in my 51 sits almost entirely behind the front axle center line, it is not uncommon for non sporty cars to have a lot of forward weight bias.

The manufacturer would rather you understeer a bit and slow down than have the tail swing out leading to potential disaster.

There is a guy that drives a deep purple 50 to my local car meet.  He has done some real nice heavy customization.   Lace highlights in the paint and such...  I will try to get some shots for you next time I see  him!

Some updates - got the engine compartment cleaned, primed and painted satin black.  Engine on hold seller is being foot dragging, may end up getting a flathead to go back in it.

been discussing with dad on putting it on an s-10 frame.
