I had long been putting this off and I am about to move a car onto the lift that is how we say non driveable.  I have an open-end alignment lift and as such nothing to connect a winch...so I fabricated this set up today and I am please with the outcome and feel very comfortable with its ability to do the job.  The unit is two piece and one section slides into the runway supports and the other then sets over and locks into the first piece and secure with a couple bolts and this will transfer any torque to the runway rolling jack rails.   This will make it so very easy to get in-op cars onto the lift.  The approach ramps are short and rather steep and the runways being an alignment lift are 9.5 inches off the concrete...pushing on even a small car is killer bee...

You will never regret adding a winch to your lift. I cut my control cord and wired on extension cord ends. Now i can plug in 100 foot cord and run winch from driver’s seat. Same winch goes on my trailer. Used a square tube mount.

I will be adding a remote control to this unit when they get them back in stock.   Like you, this winch is set up now for easy drop-on use at both my lifts and the dove tail car trailer.   The winch itself if not in use is stored out of the way and protected in an easy to carry metal tool box.  It is just a simple task to attach it securely at any of the three stations.

Better patent it before a certain one copies the  design and starts selling it on Ebay?.  Looks good!

thanks...if they need to copy this....they hurting in the R&D segment of the business and if this will boost them....let them grab the bone and run....just remember, you saw it here first....?

Had the winch on my hoist for at least 5 years. I also have a push bar, 6 foot channel with a trailer coupler on each end. I can push or pull anything i can attatch a trailer ball to. Use it to tow dead vehicles home, simply bolt an angle iron to front end and go. No brakes? No problem.

finished the winch install....as I was unable to get a remote for the older model, I bought a new winch that is cable or remote.  I also made the bracket base to the same dimensions of the other winch so either winch will work on either lift or the trailer.  I also carried down from the overhead this shelf unit as I finally put my plan into action of putting the two walking foot sewing machines upstairs of the shop.  I was about to chunk this when taking it apart I saw how quick and easy it would be to modify for the back wall on a barn bay.
