Hi all I wanted to see, I took rear end out awhile back came out a couple of weeks later and noticed it have leaked out a little fluid around the yoke. Not alot just a little. I didn't have it setting level. Is this normal or should I go ahead and replace seal or. Not to worry about it? It never has Shown signs of leaking was dry as a bone when removed. If I change what is the proper torque specs? Also what are the torque specs for the axle nut that holds drum on? Thanks for the info

It's possible that the level was a little low so you didn't notice any leakage in normal operating position. Then with it removed, and sitting pinion down hill, that oil migrated through the seal. If the seal allowed leakage then now is the time to replace it.

OK thanks I thought so. It should be pretty straight forward to replace I hope. Hope some one will chime in on torque specs

Just want to get it done right and axle nut too. Thanks

Drive pinion flange nut is 180 ft. lbs. minimum to 320 ft. lbs. Axle shaft nuts are 142 ft. lbs. minimum and tighten to get cotter pins in.

Holy heck, going to need a good sized torque wrench if you want to hit 320. I'd need a cheater pipe and some extra body mass for that too...

Thanks very much. Also going to mark were the pinion nut is set at before I take it off and put it back to the same position. Thanks again for the info

Ya no kidding but I would not think it would take 320 lbs. But I could be wrong will see. Hope. If so I will have to call some friends I'm not that powerful.
