I have a story about one .... I can not remember exact year, was a 61-63 Chrysler .... My brother needed a car for work. I was 16 & he was 26 years old.

He told me about a car down the street for sale .... so the next day while he was at work I looked at it. I was able to buy it for $50 and drug it home, then replaced the ballast resistor for a couple $$ and it was a running driving car.

Oh my Lord, my brother came home from work & saw me working on the car "I bought for him"  He was ready to skin me alive, thinking I bought the car for myself.

I had to run away and walk around the block to let my brother cool down.

When I explained to him it was such a great deal & he owed me the money I put into it ... I just did not want it to sell before he came home.

Funny story how I thought my brother was going to kill me ....

To be honest, this forum is more about early cars up to 1950's. Most here work on 20's, 30's, 40's 50's. We often talk about off topic cars, A 60's would be considered off topic.

We have a place for off topic cars, I have a thread on a 1993 dodge, sadly your 1961 is kinda on the border and belongs there.

I want to welcome you here, I love old 60's mopar. But for the question and answer, .... We love you brother but you may find better answers in a different forum for that year.
