Jeez, I don't think I've ever met anybody that didn't want to bother with something to do with my car. Most people I've dealt with would go above and beyond when I told them what I was working on. I've had people that couldn't help, but that's different. Maybe you need to move to the friendlier South:D

I take that back, I've met ONE supplier that couldn't be bothered with helping me.

Alex, in my area (out west) I found an older Bear alignment shop. They had one old timer who knew how to do our older cars. You might check in some of the restoration magazines including Hemmings Motor News for advertisements. Also you could post on some of the other old Mopar forums. There's sure to be some alignment shops out there that can still do your car. Have you let your fingers do the walking?

thanks guys.

shops these days don't know much. All they want is a quick buck from simple service/maintenance. They have this fear that they will spend half a day figuring out how to align the car.

Alexander,

Since you are in New Jersey, maybe if you called Kanter's in Boonton they might know of someone not too far away from you who could do the alignment.

Just a thought.

When I had my front end alighned I carried with me the procedures and specifications from a MoTors manual and gave this information to the technician as follows. This information is for Plymouth automobiles.

I'd forget the big shops and try some mom and pop establishments.

It's a shame, back in the day, when someone would pump your gas and clean your windshield without a special charge, you could usually ask the gas jockey where there was a decent front end, welding, radiator or other specialty shop and get a good referral. Now you're lucky if they can just speak english.

About 4 or 5 years ago I had a 49 Dodge that I was going to get aligned I spoke the who I think was the manager of the Goodyear shop on Rt 9 north in freehold around where the Friendleys is. I never got the job done and sold the car but since you are not that far away it may be worth asking but again it was back a few years and you would need the specs from the manual.
