I just got my truck last night. Photos will be coming. So will a barrage of questions. I have reviewed the entire website so hopefully I will not ask to many repetitive questions although unsure I might.

The driver side door has no lock. It opens and closes without difficulty. The passenger side as a key lock. The handle turns from the inside and outside but I cannot open the door. The man I bought it from said that it used to open normally. No keys came with the truck.

Any thoughts anybody?

That's weird because when you use the inside handle to open the door it would unlock it and open it too. Not sure what you guys have going on.

My truck works the same way, you lock the drivers side door by pulling the handle up, then slide across the seat and out the passenger side and then use the ignition key to lock the door. You cannot lock either door by pulling up the inside handle, then closing the door, it just unlocks. Safety feature, no way can you lock your keys in your truck. However it works just the opposite, you can't leave your key in the truck when you lock it, so if you lose the key, its off to a locksmith. The good news is hopefully, is that the same key for the ignition works in the passenger door lock.

You shouldn't need to. The inside door handle should open the door locked or unlocked. If that doesn't work you've got something broken.

Can I take off the door panel and jimmy the lock from the inside?

You'd have to be a contortionist. The only access to the inside of the door is through the lower rectangle shaped cover near the bottom inside of the door. This is just above floor level with the door closed, and I believe most of it is behind the seat pedestal.

If you can get under the driver's side maybe you can sneak up through the battery box and try to hook the inner handle with a coat hanger/hook to unlock it. Either that its a locksmith or a broken window. Mike

Pilot House door key was different then the ignition key. Small little thing, only about inch or so long. I had to take the lock down to a locksmith to get a new one made. As for the door not unlocking, mechanism is probably rusted. If I remember right, take the glass out and side track to get to the latch on the back of the door.
