Jim Saraceno Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 I finally got some time to work on ol' Bluebelle this weekend. I went out and got a fuel pump pressure-vacuum gauge and ran tests on the fuel pump. It had little volumn, little vacuum, and little pressure, but it held what pressure it had so I know right way the diaphragm was fine but there was a blockage. Sure enough, when I pull the fuel pump and disassembled it, it was full of crap from the rusted fuel line that I just replaced. I cleaned everything out, reassembled it and we are back on the road again. Thanks for all the suggestions, you got me on the right track so I didn't spend hours looking for the wrong thing! WoooHooo! Quote
Normspeed Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Great news there Jim. Time for a long drive! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 kinda like one them laws of physics...for every action there is an equal reaction....being the rusted tube was sleeved inside a rubber hose..pieces had to go somewhere...glad she back one the road running right. Quote
splat1955 Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Right on Jim....feels good when you can nail a problem down, huh? After reading your posts about your problem, I think one of the next small projects might be to take a look at my pump. Seems that after a week or so, that my fuel takes a bit of time getting back up to the carb...making me think that the diaphram may be leaking...allowing everthing in the line to get back to the tank. Just not sure yet. But congrats! Quote
55 Fargo Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Glad to hear you solved the problem and it worked out..........Fred Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Isn't great when you fix something yourself, AND, end up with a new tool. Quote
