Hi all,

I have some questions regarding gravel guards and a radio for a 1950 dodge.

While searching in my new college town, I have found 1950-60s Mopar heaven. I have needed some parts for my 50 and found a 49 Wayfarer and a 50 Coronet. The 49 has a radio that looks to be all there. Is it a chore to remove radios and add them to a car? It is all complete and looks to be in good shape. Just wondering if you all have done this task before. Are radios pretty straight forward to work on?

Also the coronet has a set of gravel guards that I think would look nice on the Meadowbrook since I live on a gravel road. There are in decent shape and could use some repair. Are these a simple bolt on process? Or is drilling through the fender required?

Thank you all for your time.

The radios are a bit of a chore but do-able. You will just have to lay on your back under the dash to see what you are doing.

The gravel guards are a bolt on item.  However, I am not sure if there is a difference between the rear fenders on a Coronet and a Meadowbrook. So, I would make sure they would fit properly first.

Also, if your car does not have gravel guards you will need to drill the mounting holes.

Do you have name for the salvage yard?  I may be searching for some parts for my '50 coronet.  I am nowhere near Nebraska but I am always interested in these old salvage yards.
