1950 Plymouth Hotrod built in Boston.

Hello All,

Earlier this year I bought a 1950 Plymouth Hotrod. It was built in the USA in Boston (I made contact with the original builder, but not going to post his name without his permission)

It was imported in the UK in April 2018.

Unfortunately on the drive home it snapped the camshaft in the 305.

I have since purchased a 350 which will be swapped in.

It has some Fatman stuff upfront and I was hoping someone might be able to help me identify the hardware so I can get some spares if I need them. I've tried to email Fatman direct but they never replied.

The picture below is before it was imported into the UK.

Cheers, Jay.

Looks like fun.. I really like cars in primer. Lots of them get ruined with paint. Would like to see more pics, especially  of the radiused rear wheelwells.

Oh it got ruined for definite when it landed here. Below is a picture of it now(I don't post these often because it looks stupid with fake "speed shop" writing on the door). I will eventually take it back and probably satin black it with Green accents but that is only a maybe. The rear arches need to be rolled to get a proper lip on them as right now they rub the tyres.

That color isn't bad.. Hey, it's your car; build it the way you like it. You don't have to ask for permission. One things certain, you probably won't see another 1950 Plymouth on the street!!

The finish is horrendous, feels like it was done with house paint and roller.

Absolutely no way will I see another 1950 Plymouth that has been rodded.

Plymouth aren't that common on UK roads anyway.

Ah, can't see the finish but the color looks okay, or is it colour? ?

If you have the builder's contact info, couldn't he tell you what

he used?  Don't know if they'll send to the U K but  see if you can

get your hands on a Speedway or Fatman catalog.

Good luck. Love those wheel wells, by the way. Nice ride!

He has, but I've not been able to find them listed on Fatman website. They didn't even respond to my email asking for help so I thought I would ask on here.

Thanks. It will be better when it's back on the road.

I'm lovin this thread!!!!!  I'm thinking the majority of the folks on this site are "gritting their teeth"!  I see the responses are light.  So many here have issues with modifying a  Mopar,....even more when violating them with Chevy parts.

I think your 2 door is cool and provides a great canvas for doing your own thing.  Please post more pics, and ask more questions.

<The snapped cam was the plymouth rejecting the heartbeat of America>

Mr. Moderator, please remember that I don't consider myself the arbiter of anything. Life's a learning experience. Once you firmly make up your mind on any matter as subjective and nonsensical as automobile preferences, the appurtenances thereto and connected with;  you've decided to stop learning. So in light of all that nonsense I'll submit..........

An alternative possibility might be that the 305 couldn't face being in a Plymouth and took it's own life.. ?

Rock on HotRoddaJay!!!
