Plymouthy Adams Posted October 5, 2019 Report Posted October 5, 2019 (edited) was able to get the engine and transmission cleaned this afternoon along with completing the latches to prop my rear doors open...in the first picture, rest assured, the transmission was not painted black.....it was related to a certain fellow in Ft. Wayne Indiana... Edited October 5, 2019 by Plymouthy Adams Quote

Los_Control Posted October 5, 2019 Report Posted October 5, 2019 Oh Lawdy, may the gods bless you with never raining while driving 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 5, 2019 Author Report Posted October 5, 2019 (edited) Thanks.....and......may I also be blessed with bolts that don't yield and my hood stays on the car !!! There is a difference in driving in rain and blasting high pressure water directly onto an item....now if this was not a running engine just awaiting return to the engine bay and was instead slated for teardown....pressure washing may have been an option...actually only the tranny was truly nasty. I have no need for water or for that matter condensation within the starter, clutch, generator, distributor or carb or any other small opening as most engines have with oil dipstick breather tubes and what not. I don't care if the fan blade or engine mounts get wet.....3 minutes after rolling the engine inside...it started a pretty beefy rain...first in well over 40 days....I also just put the rear axle and all the front suspension parts that just got cleaned and painted into storage, again on moments before the rain...the sun was shining full when the big drops started falling...
