Stainless window trim for P15?

Recommended Posts

I know that there was never any stainless window trim made for the 1946-48 P15 club coupes, but I saw a 1947 Chrysler 2-door coupe the other day and noticed that it had it. My question is if the window trim on the Chrysler can be made to fit on the P15 windows? I think this would give the car a classier look. Personally, I don't see why they never put stainless trim on the side windows, as well as the back, in the first place.

Somewhere I have seen a pic of a p15 with stainless around the rear window. Dont recall which body style it was. I would think you could check the rear window interchanges and if the windows interchange between dodge desoto or chrysler then the stainless from those should work.

Darin, they probably didn't put the stainless trim on the side and rear windows of the Plymouth because it was the low priced car of the line.

I don't think the window trim will be a direct fit from a Chrysler, Dodge or DeSoto. I know the windshield is larger, so the other windows probably are too. However, as long as it's too big you can always make it smaller to make it fit.

It's like the headlight visors I have on my coupe. They didn't fit when I bought them either due to the fender stainless. Just trimmed a little off the corners of the visors and they fit perfect.

46-48 Dodge ,De Soto, and Chrysler shared the same basic body--so those window mouldings would interchange. They probably are bigger than Plymouth,so possibly could be cut down. Never saw it done, but theres a first time for everything!

The back window of 46-48 Plymouth and Dodge coupe are the same. You can install the rubber from a Dodge and use the stainless trim, but the windshields are different.
