greg g Posted August 3, 2019 Report Posted August 3, 2019 (edited) My opinion is if you are going to use relays and re wire anyway, put the relays as close to the load and battery as possible. I would put them or the double one on the radiator support, and feed the switched side through the dimmer switch and wire the headlamps from there one for both lows and the other for the highs, and at least 12 gauge for those connections and 10 gauge from the battery side of the solenoid to the power side of the relays. And while you are messing with stuff there run new headlamp grounds to known clean corrosion free connection to the body or frame even better. If you don't have a ground strap from the body to the frame or engine install one. You will be surprised how much better body mounted electrics work better with the body solidly grounded.
