K Rich Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 I am in need of a thermostat housing for my 1950 business coupe deluxe. I have not been able to find one online yet. Can anyone help me?
DJ194950 Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) Has been a lot of new casting ones for sale (same seller) on EBAY recently. There are $60 + Free?? shipping? Look at 1950 plymouth parts on Ebay motors. DJ Edited August 20, 2018 by DJ194950 spelling
Andydodge Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 Internal or external bypass?.............I can't help re the external ones but the internal bypass versions can be substituted by using a V8 housing, at least thats what I found...........this pic shows the stock internal bypass housing that my 41 Plymouth had and the other pic shows the chromed V8 housing that I later used on this side valve engine, fitted straight on, I just used a modern style thermostat............any small or big block standard thermostat housing is the same as that chrome version...............andyd
ptwothree Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) Unless this is a concours project, most housings from 60's thru 70's V8 mopars will work just fine. Under $10...chrome will be more. Works with internal bypass so it may or may not work depending on what you have. Edited August 20, 2018 by ptwothree additional info
K Rich Posted August 21, 2018 Author Report Posted August 21, 2018 It's an internal bypass, so this info will get me going. Thank so much.
Dartgame Posted August 22, 2018 Report Posted August 22, 2018 Parts stores sell flex hoses with different size ends and lengths too, assuming your inlet on the radiator is bigger than the stat housing. That’s what i needed for mine.
dodgeguy Posted August 24, 2018 Report Posted August 24, 2018 I have one from a 47 Dodge D24 , will it work for you?
