greg g Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 It has been posted before, but just ot check, what is the diameter of the 600 x 16 tire that was stock on the early p 15? Quote
Normspeed Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Mine on the teardrop are 27 1/4" . 6.00 X 16 Firestone tube type from Coker. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 This thread peeked my curosity..the 47 Town Sedan I just bought has these size wheels, these tires are very narrow..so I was wondering about the track of the bigbutt coupe as it is upgraded. The stock track is 57...so with the positive offset 7" wide aluminum wheels I am using with 215/65/15's...the cross section of the tire is 8 3/8 inch but the track is only 57 5/8" lots of extra meat for no sacrifice in fender clearance..who is going see 5/16 inch per side standing away from the car? Pleasantly pleased. Now the rear track with the 70 'cuda 8 3/4 and same wheel/tire combo..track is about 1 1/2" wider than stock...I will probably install 225 width tires when finished. Quote
greg g Posted August 25, 2007 Author Report Posted August 25, 2007 Tim, I am looking more at the diameter. I am running 205's currently which according to the tire calculator are 27.1 inches in diameter and turn 767 revs per mile. The same calculator shows 751 for 215's and 235.5 for 225's, and 720 for 235's. I plugged in 155/95 16 as they don't have the old sizes, this yielded 753 revs per mile. I have some take offs around, so I think I will mount up the 225's for there reduced revs per mile. this will probably also make my speedometer closer to accurate. Currently 65 indicated is about 60 actual. should drop the revs at highway speed a good bit also. I'm sure the POC folks will not be happy with my shoe size, but I believe the engine will be happier. Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I believe the larger part of this forum would be shunned by the POC.. Quote
Normspeed Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I think we have a good number of POC folks here. I won't mention names, wouldn't want to get them shunned from the national club or anything Quote
