Picked up this little guy on Friday from a friend. He had it about three years but didn't do anything with it. It came from Oregon and still has the 1956 Oregon plates on it since he never put it on the road here in California. When I do I'll have to swap out the plates. Its a flathead 6 car, 3 speed on the column with overdrive. I was able to get it to turn over pretty well today and need to sort out the wiring to the dist. since my friend did some work on it and didn't know what he was doing so... I'm confident it will run and will be working through each system to see what works and what doesn't.

For those experts out there, I'm trying to figure out which paint color this is. Looking at a paint chart from '53 this doesn't look like any of them. Its very blue and not so green, not mint, but not a gray either which one of them were. Any of you guys know which color this is for sure? I want to order some paint so I can paint the wheels before putting new tires on it. Assuming it runs well enough to put back on the road. You can see where its been sanded back through that yucky brushed on garbage to the original color. The plan is to clean and buff the original paint and keep the patina in tact. The car is way to straight and clean to mess with. Chrome and stainless are all there and once fully assembled will look pretty great. I'll keep posting pics of the progress. Thanks, Lance

Looks good man! I wish you luck on getting it running.  Glad you’re going to leave the original paint.  ?

Go lightly with the DA and don't press down, let it work and you won't cut to metal as often. I used 600 grit

Dummy me wasn't looking at the door jams. After doing that its pretty clear the original color is the Seamist Green. Not to get some paint ordered up to paint the wheels. Hope I can get back to tinkering with the motor this weekend and try and make it fire up. I'm up to my eyeballs on a little 65 Buick right now I'm trying to get done and sold.

Missing a couple of knobs if any of you guys have some extra parts lying around. Need the ball for the column shifter and one of the radio knobs. I think these are the only missing parts on the car, which is amazing.
