LMBoise
Starting to do some disassembly work and am trying to figure out how to undo the knobs on the dash. I have, what I thought, was the hard part done getting the retainers undone, but I cannot seem to figure out how the knobs come off so I can strip it down. Thanks for any suggestions. NiftyFifty
They just unscrew, you will need to hold the various shafts, with the exception of the choke which you must remove the entire inner cable.....now that I think about it the stock choke should screw off...mine wasn't stock Edited February 28, 2018 by 4mula-dlx
LMBoise
Perfect, thanks! I was looking for some sort of set screw or pin that had to be pushed. Sounds pretty straight forward.
ggdad1951
yep should unscrew. IF it doesn't work by finger, if it doesn't, get a piece of leather or rubber and GENTLY use a channel locks to help ya get it started. Townwagon here sells the bezel removal tools on epay (worth the investment)
LMBoise
Thanks. I am going to give unscrewing the knobs a try today. I did find a creative way to get the bezels off. I used one of the tools I have for removing snap rings. I have two types, one has straight tips and the other bends at a 90degree angle. The later fit perfectly.
