gramps1951 Posted November 2, 2017 Report Posted November 2, 2017 (edited) As the title states I installed new rear springs with new shackles and pins they did fit snug but not what I thought was way tight I greased the parts before installing them but now tryed my grease gun on these new parts and they won't take grease any idears? New parts too tight? Thanks Neil PS the gun is working fine on other fittings just not on these new parts Edited November 2, 2017 by gramps1951 Quote
greg g Posted November 2, 2017 Report Posted November 2, 2017 Change the position I on of the rear end. If the axle is hang in down with the frame jacked up, lower it a bit, orjack up the axle a little. Quote
The Oil Soup Posted November 2, 2017 Report Posted November 2, 2017 Have you tried taking the zerk fittings off and seeing if they allow grease to pass through? Quote
gramps1951 Posted November 2, 2017 Author Report Posted November 2, 2017 no I will try that but I think it unlikely that all zerk fittings are bad and all are new . but I will check them thanks. and thanks greg I will check your idear it is still jacked up in the air. Neil Quote
gramps1951 Posted November 2, 2017 Author Report Posted November 2, 2017 The interesting thing is the old parts would not take grease also . The frontend takes grease so I know the gun works Quote
52b3b Joe Posted November 2, 2017 Report Posted November 2, 2017 My truck didn't want to take grease with all the new parts either. I could barely get it to take any! After driving it a little bit, it took grease like normal. Hope this helps! Quote
gramps1951 Posted November 2, 2017 Author Report Posted November 2, 2017 Thanks I thought things might be too tight can't get to work on the truck for a few days . i'll check the grease fittings but what is the chances that all the fittings were bad. Quote
