Guest shortlid Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Why would what looks like a '48-'49 B-1-C 116 have TC116 as the model #? The serieal # is 83318060 ?? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I'm assuming you are referring to what's written on your title? That all depends on how the original salesman filled out the paperwork. The serial # looks like it is probably correct. Getting your DMV to change it could prove challenging. With my truck the Iowa title had the serial # missprinted with an "S" in place of a "5", and it's also titled as a 1951 model instead of the 1950 that it is. When I registered it our Wisconsin DMV put the Iowa Title # in as the truck's serial #. Luckily I had make a copy of the Iowa title before I sent it all in. I took my copies of my original paperwork in to a DMV office to get it corrected and was first told I'd have to bring in the vehicle to have it verified. Well, since it's in pieces all over my shop, that isn't an option. AFter showing them the copies of the originals they finally realized their mistake and corrected it at no charge. However, the serial # is still missprinted with the "S". I even brought a picture of the serial # stamped into the frame as proof that it should be a "5". I figure that I'm the only one that'll see the title anyway, at least until I sell the truck which I have no plans to do, so why should it matter. I know what it is. Merle Quote

Guest shortlid Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I don't have a title for the truck it came with the piece of property I bought in a forclosure sale. Has a few old camper tralers on it as well?? Don't have titles for any of the stuff on the property. The model # of TC116 is off the cab plate in the door jamb. Quote

Is that number on the boss up front on the engine block on the drivers side above the front freeze plug? Quote

Young Ed Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I wonder if someone in the past was playing around with data tags. A TC is a 39. Quote
