Exhaust manifold stud leaking coolant

I  had 2 studs break when removing the manifold so I got them out and re tapped the hike but I just put bokts in not the studs...I'm getting coolant coming out of the 2...my buddy put regular Teflon tape..is that on or should i use something else..poly 318 passenger...thanks

bolts will work. I use non hardening permatex #2

I use a Locktite brand thread sealer. That or the Permatex should work just fine.

I have learned to pay close atttention to those bolts. If the least bit stubborn, I get my torch. Drilling out a broken stud, like porcupine love making, is very tricky. The po may have done some crazy things to install in the past.

Yeo both studs broke..we drilled them out and re tapped them...just saw the water coming out and i ****.....thought something was wrong...where can I buy the permatex at....lowes,fastneal...

I get mine at napa any auto parts store or decent (like ace do it best etc.) hardware store should have it.

Should I get the red, or high temp which one is the best I see they make all different kinds

I would get the high temp stuff for exhaust studs just in case.
