greg g Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 Remove the electric sensor, drill and tap the hole to accept the larger sensor, the question before drilling is, is the pocket it will go into deep enough to accept the new sensor? If not then go back to an electric aftermarket piece. Quote
tattooman43 Posted May 9, 2017 Author Report Posted May 9, 2017 Is the housing 1 1 / 2 for a poly 318 Quote
Young Ed Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 You might be able to use the guts from a 54ish gauge and swap the face over so it still matches your other gauges. Then you could retain the elec sender. Quote
tattooman43 Posted May 10, 2017 Author Report Posted May 10, 2017 Anyone have the measurements for the opening Quote
HughForrest Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 I'm using one in the upper radiator hose kinda like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bci-72065/overview/ 1 Quote
tattooman43 Posted May 10, 2017 Author Report Posted May 10, 2017 I was looking at one of these but don't know the size of the opening on the intake these are 1 1/2 Quote
HughForrest Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 As long as it is the right bolt pattern I think you'd be OK. Check out this thread from the HAMB: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/motor-mopar-thermostat-housings.658266/ Quote
