My frame there has several unknown holes all over the place.  Could be assembly locating holes.

If I were to guess you have the same holes in the same position on the other side outer frame rail..the larger hole appears to be that of a gauge hole..an alignment when jigged and welding the frames  They are later used for the most part for checking against damage in a repair involving possible frame damage..

I'm pretty sure that the two holes beside each other are threaded holes that the two bolts holding the brake hose bracket use..............I seem to remember that the 3rd larger hole may have been for a locating "tang" on the bracket........but could be wrong tho'...........the 2 threaded holes would not have enough strength to attach a shock bracket.............andyd

Am still pretty sure the 2 holes are for the brake hose bracket..........at least that's where the bracket was on both sides here in Oz............andyd

Hmmmmm . . . I’ve been studying the photo herein, and I’m convinced Andydodge’s on the right track. I’ll bet they’re for exactly what he suggested – the bracket for the flexible brake hose from the frame to the front brake cylinder. I was going to look at the frame on our car, but it’s toooo cold, and I’m toooo old, to be crawling around on the cold concrete floor. So, I’m still casting my vote for Andy’s tho’t!!! Thx.
