ferdball Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 I've got some very nice blackwall tires on my B-1-B and they are 215/85x16 and thought before I went to the trouble of removing them and trying them on my D-22 (42 sedan) I'd ask some members here if you thought they would clear the fenders. Looks like they will but any input would be appreciated. Looking toe buy some new tread when the wheels come back from the powder coater. Quote
greg g Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 I have 225 75 15s on the rear of my 46 with the more closed in fenders than Tue earlier open design. You tires will be marginally taller but a bit narrower. If I corner hard with a full trunk, I some time get a bit of tire rub, empty no problem. Try them and see, but you should be OK. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 I have 750/16's on the rear of my 42 D22 Coupe and they fit fine. Bought them from Diamondback. 1 Quote
ferdball Posted November 16, 2016 Author Report Posted November 16, 2016 Do you think those 7.50x16s would fit on the front? That's about what I think the 21585x16 are closest to. Guess either way I'll find out tomorrow. I'e peeled off the tires from my B-1-B and am headed over tomorrow drag it home. Will post up a photo of it in the driveway tomorrow! Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 No, they rubbed on the front on a tight turn so I doped down to 650/16......... but I think 700/16's would have worked. Quote
ferdball Posted November 17, 2016 Author Report Posted November 17, 2016 Pulled home and shined it up! The 215/85x16 fit just fine, they are close on the from of the rear fenders... Fronts turn just fine although the only experience I've had was putting it with a chain to the dolly and then around the yard to park it. I think I will get a size smaller in width and height just to be safe but I like the bigger tire look. Thanks for all your help! 2 Quote
JBNeal Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 235/85r16 is close to 7.50-16...215/85r16 is close to 6.50-16 Quote
