Hey guys, who has rim clips? I just need 10 or so... that's it... and how much do they cost?

Ok, second question:

NANKANK bias ply light truck tiers... WHO CARRIES THEM??? I've been on three sites and couldn't find the same ones... they're size 6.00 16's for light trucks... tubed type. Three of which I have on the old rims are good, have lots of life on them... one however is warn down pretty well. Just need to buy one.

So, if anyone can help me out, that would be great... a link would be swell! However, I'm fearing that NANKANK doesn't make these tires anymore... so, yeah.

Thanks guys!

Guess I've led a sheltered life.....never heard of that brand tire before.

Sounds like something Moe said to Curly.

Should be other 600 x 16s out there.....not sure about the light truck part.

Yeah, checked that site too... they only have the modern looking NanKangs... the ones I have are 4 ply bias... they have the ol' pie crust edge and look right out of the 40's. I called Performance Plus today, they said they could order those... I'm going to call my buddy who bought them for his car the first time and I'll see if the shop down where he's at in Redlands still carries them. I'm sure they're only about 60+ bucks... they're tube type... oh well, I'll be super period in my driving then hahaha.

And as for rim clips... any links to the place I can order some of those?

You could drill out the rivets on the 15" rims and use those clips on the 16" rims until you can find some. I was missing a few clips on my 16" rims for my '38 Chrysler and used some clips from some bad 15" rims I had. Just drill out the rivets and then use some small bolts, lock washers, and nuts to hold them in place on your 16" rims. Works like a charm. Just make sure the head of the bolt is not any bigger than the rivet head on the inside of the rim so it will sit properly on the drum. I just used some round headed bolts with a Robinson (Philips will work too) slot. I had some kicking around as you do not want to use the six sided bolts.

Yeah, found what I need but, not by NanKang... I'm just going to go to Performance Plus tomorrow and buy a black bias ply to match the rest... should be ok. Then, I'll have the original blue rims on the car with all black wall tires... should look pretty nifty. Then, I'll swap out those with the set of 15's I have with the old beat up WWW and then have the car painted when my hood comes back all fixed up!

It's all coming together.

Goooooooooooood idea!!! I just may do that! Say, any recommended drill bit and screw and nut to use?

Thanks again!

Rob, just do like I did. Get out the set of bits and match up for size. I don't recall what size it took. Then I went to the collection of nuts, bolts, etc and found some pretty short ones that were just long enough and the correct diameter. Put the head on the back side of the rim....the nut on the front side. Doesn't take a whole lot to hold that clip on. Took some off other rims I won't use, or at least do much with.
