Dahoof Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I have a question about a 1970 mopar shifter supposedly fits A,B, and E body cars. Is it possible to get this shifter to work in my 52 Plymouth Cambridge with the original transmission? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 it is not a bolt on if that is your question Quote
Dahoof Posted June 5, 2016 Author Report Posted June 5, 2016 I guess that's what I wanted to know, if I could bolt the shifter to the 52 tranny, thanks... Quote

greg g Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 The trans shifts differently than what ford and gm used. I think spark o matic made one specific to molars. I have seen a couple over the course of the last 30 years at Mopar swap meets. Quote
greg g Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) Mopar uses a selector style trans, not like ford gm and others It requires different movements. You used to be able to find them occasionally at Mopar swaps. I believe Mr. Gasket made them and they also may have been marketed by Spark o magic. But they had a reverse pattern shift with low up to the left, second down to the right and third up to the right. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachments/mopar-3spd-floorshift-jpg.3227619/ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachments/shifteray-mopar-3spd-jpg.3227832/ Edited June 5, 2016 by greg g Quote
