Guest rotten03 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Anybody know of a place that sells conversion motor mounts, besides Plydo? Their website is useless and everyone says how awful they are to deal with. Im wanting to replace the motor mounts on my 50 plymouth. When the last owner did the engine swap, well its a little scary looking. I won't get into what conversion he did, I don't want to immediately get flamed on here. But it's initials are SBC. Quote
builtfercomfort Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Years ago JC Whitney used to sell all sorts of bolt-in motor mounts for engine swaps. Now they are all weld-in and there are only a few choices, but they still sell them. I think you will be having to work something up, I don't know of any bolt-ons available (but I'm not the expert, hopefully the experts will chime in :-) Quote
Guest rotten03 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Supposedly Plydo makes them but I have yet to hear one good thing about them. Their products are supposed to be good but its not worth it if their service sucks. I was hoping for some type of universale setup I could cut to length. I dunno. Never swapped a motor. It was always easier/cheaper to just reuse what I had. Quote
rearview Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Advanced (advance??) adapters had some generic SBC kits available a few years back, may want to check with them. Quote
Kirby D34 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 I used Plydo for my mounts...got them in four days. They send me the wrong mounts. Had to wait three weeks to get the correct mounts...they went out of town for two weeks. I have seen Mr. Street Rod list the mounts on his web site...not a great site, better to call him, this is the number that I have for him 805-526-1800 Kirby D34 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 You might post that question on the HAMB. I imagine there are a lot of SBC conversions there. Quote
PatS.... Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Interesting. I have dealt with Ply-Do a few times and had good service each time. You have to remember that it is a small one man business. His products are first rate in my experience. Quote

Allan Faust Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Steele rubber has motor mounts, cant remember if you absolutely need a core or not... Allan Quote
John Mulders Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I have ordered my fueltank via Plydo, called them (instead of Internet (web/mail)) as this was said so in the forum. Discussed prices , got the filler neck added , fax the details for the order and got everything shipped to Curacao without problems. John Quote
