chopt50wgn Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 I finally got my butt in gear and have started to do my 1950 Ply. wagon paint job myself, and the big help from a good friend. I took a week off at the beginning of Dec. to get started with it. We started to block sand and finish imperfections in the body. We got much done the whole week. Then since I work partime during the week and am off every Friday, we have been working 4-5 hours every Friday since then. We did spray filler primer and block sanded for what seems a lifetime, but the body is so straight I could do the car in black. I am not doing it black!!! I picked out 2 colors from a 1959 color chart that I got online. I am going to two tone the car and the bottom will be a turquoise metallic and the top is oyster white. The white is hard to explain in color unless you see it as it's not eggshell or off white, it's oyster white. Then I have a buddy who does pinstriping and will have him do a separation stripe between the 2 colors and also have him do some old school Von Dutch stuff on the hood nose and rear tailgate. I hope to get pics in the near future but my arms are sore from sanding to hold up the camera...ha ha 1 Quote
