My 47 D24 club coupe has had a 1950 p20 engine in it since mid 70s. Crate engine install by previous owner.

JUST as I've gather new and NOS parts for the rebuild, I found a D24 Engine near by.

Bought it for $200. Tear down starts next week ( soaking in PB blaster this weekend.)

I'm psyched that I'll have the correct engine finally !

Concern / question is will all of the parts I've purchased fit?

Valves, springs, pistons, gasket set, bearings? ?

Also, what if the crank or cam in the D24 plant are bad. Will the p20 parts criss over? Connecting rods are different (218 vs 230 ) right??

Will this be a simple as a block & head swap ??? Ha ha ha

Thanks for and help.

PA, my machine shop was all set to re-sleave the p20 block, so I bought new STANDARD pistons from egge.

Suppose we can do the same on the D24 block?

Clay,I can't tell you are crossover, but I can tell you that Delta Cams rebuilds camshafts, tappets, and crankshafts, and that they do quality work at a reasonable price. I have bought and used two cams from them and was happy with both. They will even grind cams to spec,so if you want to hot up your engine a little bit, that would be the time to do it.

And you can keep driving your car with the engine in it now while waiting to get all this done.
