Guest airbikebill Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Hi All. Here are some pics of my 39 P8. Quote
david lazarus Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Nice looking car, and I like the paint colour. Quote
Guest airbikebill Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 My local paint store still had the 39 color chart, they mixed as close as they could. Quote
PatS.... Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 As much as I'm more a street rodder, that interior sure brings back memories. Thanks alot for posting the pics! Quote
Guest airbikebill Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I'm more of a muscle car man but I fell in love with this car the first time I saw her. After I restore them somebody always wants em more than I do, so I sell em, but I plan to keep this one. I spent about a year on her. Quote
eric wissing Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Very nice , I see a car reflected in one of the shots, a sport's car? How much of the interior is original? I like the cars to be pretty close to original. not a hot rodder. Not a purist either. Eric Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Wow, that is a great looking car. I think the 39 was a great design, the headlights are unique. Your dash looks like mine(1940) You are very lucky to have it. NICE! Quote
Guest airbikebill Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I had to redo all the cloth in the car. The original was still in the car but in bad shape so I matched all the sewing and color as close as I could. I got a kit from Grainit tech to do the wood grain on the dash and windows. 39 was the first year for the column shift and headlights in the fenders, these cars have a lot of history feel to them. I'm also restoring a 77 Fiat spider. Quote
Reg Evans Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Where did you find the floor mat? It looks like brown rubber. Beautiful car! Quote
Guest airbikebill Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 The floor mat came from William Knudsen, wknudsen402@aol.com I think he is the only one that reproduces that mat for the Plymouth. He came up with some of the original mold. He was restoring a 39 and couldn't come up with a mat. He has a neat story to tell about how he started making the mats. Quote
blueskies Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Hi All. Here are some pics of my 39 P8. Beautiful car- I wish I could accomplish that amount of work in a year! I'm going on seven and I'm still not done... Pete Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Handsome ride - congratulations! Stylish interior and neat engine bay. 1939 is a great vintage! I am always impressed in restoration well done. It is hard to imagine all the work you've done to make the car look as good as your does today. Quote
