Took a look at the members map and noticed a few members in the Sydney NSW area. I'm coming down on business for a week in mid February and was wondering if anyone would like to shake hands and share a beer, and show off their cars. Also offering to squirrel a couple reasonably sized mopar parts in the suitcase and deliver since I'm only around the corner from Bernbaums and Roberts. Not sure at this point if I will rent a car, or have a driver, so my mobility may be limited. This will be one of several visits for me in the coming 12 months, but the cadence of my appearances is yet to be determined.

Looking forward to seeing a couple left hand drive old mopars, and meeting a few more fellow forum members.

Correction - right hand drive...

Cheers, Mark

They drive on the left side of the road in Australia and some other places.  I don't know how well we right-driving people adapt when visiting such other-way-around places.  Maybe you should have someone drive you around.

("Right-driving" sounds pretentious.  There is a bias built into languages.  Right?  And we lefties are considered "sinister" and "gauche".  How we suffer.)

Then there's the confusion:  If it's right-hand driving, are we on the right side of the road, or is the steering wheel on the right side?

I heard of one country that tried to change from left-hand to right-hand driving, gradually:  Trucks the first week, and cars the next.  It didn't work out so well.  But maybe it was just a story I heard somewhere.

Relations in Sweden told me of nightmares the day they switched sides of the road in the early 60's.

I worked in Ireland for two years, built a factory for my employer at the time BOSE, in Carrickmacross, county Monaghan, just an hour north of Dublin. Driving over there was second nature after two days. Once you make up your mind to go with the flow of traffic it was not difficult at all. Approaching the correct side of the car in order to get in and drive was something I did wrong right up until the end of construction.

I was stationed in England and Scotland for a total of 12  years.    Cars were no problem even went back 3 years ago for a visit, again no problem.  Motorcycles are a totally different situation.  Every time I turned I was on the wrong side.
