I have a 53 b4b with original brakes. I have removed all drum except the rear left. it looks like the drum has not come out strait and is now stuck. it has come out maybe half an inch. any ideas on how I can remove this drum? is there a rear axle that will fit this truck with disc brakes that I don't need to modify or weld? anything will help.

Sounds like  you need a hub puller to finish the job. I'd knock it back home and try to pull it with one straight off this time. I've heard most auto parts locations have them to rent/borrow. I found my hub puller at a swap meet, think I paid $5.00.

No direct bolt in disc axle that I'm aware of, but lots of guys will use the Cherokee or assorted jeep axles, but they require the perches to be changed for correct pinion angle, and in some cases to fit the stock leaf springs.

I have the rear axle from a 2002 Grand Cherokee in my 52 B-3-C. The only change needed was the spring perch location. Otherwise it fit with the original springs and drive shaft. You will need a set of wheel spacers though as it is about 3/4" narrower than the stock axle. The 12" discs work very well with the Rustyhope kit I used on the front.

I do have a drum puller. I used a sledge hammer as well as a breaker bar and socked set. I have been trying to bang it back in but no luck. jeeps. great I like jeeps. I am not sure what a perch is but I will find out. Are the wheel spacers so the tire does not rub against the frame?

Someone once told me to try and release the brake bleeder valve and see if that will allow the pistons to retract  enough and get the drum over the lip of the shoe .
