fireman_033 Posted November 25, 2015 Report Posted November 25, 2015 Hi guys it's been a long while since I posted but I just could not get my 47 project off the ground like I wanted to. Thats well ok cause I just picked up a 39 Chrysler Royal. Don't beat me up about it cause I did not do it but it does have a shiverlet motor in it other wise it is all stock. I know I need to relocate the front shock uppers to the frame but what can I do to get a little stiffer/lower too front and rear suspension? If you stand on the bumper either end it drops prolly 2 inches which is really where I want the stance. I will see if I can get a pic posted. Thanks Scott Quote
deathbound Posted November 25, 2015 Report Posted November 25, 2015 Posies sells 3" lowering springs for the rear, not cheap, but safer than going with lowering blocks and ending up with scrub line issues. As for the front, I think some have used the Aerostar springs and moved the spring pocket to the underside of the lower A-arm to get it lower. Hopefully someone who has done this will chime in, as I have front leaf springs on an early car, but do have the Posies rear springs. Quote
40plyrod Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I've lowered mine by using areostar springs and moving the lower spring pockets and also relocated the shock mount. I don't have many miles on it yet mostly just around the block but I'm pretty happy with the ride so far, definitely more firm than a friend of mine's stocker but not jarring. You can see what I did here: http://p15-d24.com/topic/30508-rust-free-40-plymouth-sedan/page-28 Quote
pflaming Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Love the exterior especially the subtle pin stripping, I've always known something was missing on my trucks exterior, now I know, TKS. Maybe add Roadrunner or a bolt of lightning just behind the front wheel well! LOL Edited November 26, 2015 by pflaming Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) PP in your case you could give your grandkids a couple Sharpies and let them loose on the truck..I can see in no way they could harm the finish...enough Sharpies and they could well end up doing a job you have not been able to accomplish in 9 years...a finish on the truck Edited November 26, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams 2 Quote
