dmdec Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Need some help guys. Redoing the brakes on my 1951 Cranbrook, took the whole front brakes apart before I noticed the big bolts that hold the wheel cylinders on have what I call "orientation arrows" on them. Now I dont know where to position the arrows during re assembly. Can anyone help ? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 are you attempting to do this job without a book and the procedures for proper alignment? orientation of the screws is going to be your least worry.. -> the rear of the cylinder... Quote
desoto1939 Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Since you removed the eccentric pins you do not have any reference point on how the eccentric pin is going to affect the setup for you shoes. ANother question is Do uyou have access to the Ammco Brake guage because you will need this to get the shoes in the perfect arch that is needed to get a good brake. Also get yourself a service manual on your car before going forward on the brake rebuild this will show the proper orientation. I have the Ammco brake tool and rent this tool.
