mopar_earl Posted December 1, 2015 Author Report Posted December 1, 2015 If you decide heat it, only heat the hub. Don't heat the axle or the drum. Apply even heat with no load, than crank down the puller. Heat it to dull red, no orange. May take more then one try. The drum turn freely when the puller is tight? If not, the shoes are catching it. mopar_earl Posted December 1, 2015 Author Report Posted December 1, 2015 When I first pulled mine they were a ***************. I used the impact till it wouldn't turn anymore, than hammer bolt, impact and than boom she went lol after I cleaned them up and applied antiseize they pull right off easy with the puller when I went back in a second time. Young Ed Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Don't antiseize the threads, leave those clean and dry or you will over torque it. Next time you pull them, they will come off much easier. Earl I wouldn't anti seize the threads either but I don't believe you can over tighten these. The spec is I believe 162 minimum. Quote
50net Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 For some reason this side must have sat in the elements the drum more rusted the castle nut too was a pain to remove had to heat &used pipe as leverage to break loose so i can imagine the rust fusion on drum and spindle Quote
mopar_earl Posted December 3, 2015 Author Report Posted December 3, 2015 Did ya get the drums pulled? Earl Quote
