dale Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Anyone know how tough the differential is on a 1946 Plymouth.. I have a stock Chevy motor with a 350 automatic in along with the stock Ply rearend.. For ordinary driving I would think it would be OK with the auto trns. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) lets see almost 69 years old and can it take some abuse...that is a tough one... Edited September 25, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
P15-D24 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Same as used in the 1/2 trucks. Quote
deathbound Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 What are you doing for a parking brake, since removing the stock trans/parking brake set-up? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) the tranny is an automatic of late vintage and thus supplied with a PARK lock pin and sprag...I never use the park brake on an automatic unless there is an off change need to put in gear while making a test of some sort..even with my automatic upgrades, I do ensure the parking feature is working as it is a safety requirement if stopped or subject to annual inspections Edited September 25, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
