Anyone know how tough the differential is on a 1946 Plymouth..  I have a stock Chevy motor with a 350 automatic in along with the stock Ply rearend.. For ordinary driving I would think it would be OK with the auto trns.

What are you doing for a parking brake, since removing the stock trans/parking brake set-up?

the tranny is an automatic of late vintage and thus supplied with a PARK lock pin and sprag...I never use the park brake on an automatic unless there is an off change need to put in gear while making a test of some sort..even with my automatic upgrades, I do ensure the parking feature is working as it is a safety requirement if stopped or subject to annual inspections
