dmdec Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Does anyone know where you could find repop exterior die cast chrome trim pieces for a 51 Plymouth ? I;ve looked around, but NOS stuff is off the charts price wise, and local plating shops in my area want even more to re-plate the old stuff. My stainless steel trim is all good, but the die cast stuff is a royal mess. Thanks Quote
Young Ed Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I haven't seen anything exterior reproduced for a P23 except for the plastic round or square hood emblem. Quote

JerseyHarold Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I own a '51 and '52 Plymouth and have found these years to be very under-served when it comes to resto parts. The 'Plymouth' trunk nameplate was reproduced at one time. You may want to try Neil Riddle in Washington state. He goes by 'seaplym' on eBay. The last i looked, he also carried repro headlight trim rings. When these cars were newer, there were aftermarket chrome trunk handles, outside door handles, and parking light bezels available because the original trim corroded when the cars were fairly new. suntennis Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Plating is expensive especially for pitted pot metal. There is some paint on type to chrome finish that is available which would be cheaper and maybe do yourself. Powder coating places could also give a chrome like finish on parts that would cost less than regular chrome plate. Sometimes Ebay has some trim parts that are in good condition. Have bought a number of used trim parts from Riddle that I have been happy with the price and condition. Quote
