Saw this car a few years ago sitting at a garage south of here....and it was for sale at the time.

It is a 1951 Desoto with a Plymouth body.....they said the late owner had brought it home from Japan after

his tour of duty there.  Apparently it had been sitting for several years---and was not in the best condition.

The shop owner later said no one purchased the car and the owner's family took it back home.

Nice; I like the Desoto grille in there. I think $3K is a little steep for a four door but the novelty of the mixed breed would be a cool conversation piece.

I had to look at it a while to decide it was really a DeSoto;    Im not so crazy about a four door model and it did need

some work.........but it would definitely be different.  You would have to explain to the average guy how and why it was

different.

I hesitated to say it was ugly at all, because a member might own one, or we might have a new member that shows up here tomorrow, having bought it.

But it was just so ugly I couldn't restrain myself.

BTW my vision is kind of a sore subject. I had to quit flying due to my vision, and it's worse since then.

I might not pass the DMV eye test in another 5 years when my license comes due for renewal.
