fudds54 Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Ok who sells the best door rubber? Andy Bernbaum, Roberts or I the store on Ebay NOS Mopar parts who claim to have the original mold in there add. The Mopar store on Ebay is 95.00 for a 4 door while the others are 60.00 just wondering if its worth spending the extra 35.00? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) per my experience..Clester 's has the right durometer rubber....someone recently stated that Clester's is now Roberts supplier...I found the rubber from Steele too hard....and restoration specialities is less hard than Steele but still not near the fit and quality of Clester's..this is also true to truck seals.. one man's opinion based on many peoples mistakes..have changed rubber for others that were never able to get their doors and trunk to shut properly still seal and align the edges of panels flush.. They may work well for Mopar. I tried Clesters for a Ford application and was unimpressed with the fit and correctness. I found a different supplier that had the correct profile for the trunk seal I needed. I think you'll find all of them good on some makes and/or models and not so well on others. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 7, 2015 Report Posted December 7, 2015 just stating another source and personal findings based on actual use...each individual will buy from whatever retailer they are happy with in either product listing or repeat business based on a success story...I have found some excellent products in form of shape and pliability only to be just a tad off in items such as undercut for locking onto a panel when fitted. I would venture to say on my experience, that if you have the choice to handle the product side by side some interesting choices will be made contrary to that of the claims of the retailer. It is was, now and will forever be 'buyer beware' but here we try to give the buyer a list of choice to pick from, that is all and what we are supposed to do. We share these experiences, would I list the last disappointing product here by name and seller..not until I have a chance to let them know in feedback my finding and see what their reaction may be and the willingness to address the issue as to my experience. dale Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 Bought mine at Bernbaum and they are OK on the vertical but bad news across the bottom because there is a radius there and the seals glueing surfaces are square. Dont know why they didnt make the seals with a radius relief. Quote
