Is there something that goes around the filler neck where it enters the cab through the floor under the seat?  Seems like a rather large opening.  Wondering if there's a boot or something.  Vermin keep getting in through here.

Roberts motor parts has a rubber item that fits perfectly. Remove the metal neck and fith the rubber to the openining in the cab. Then use a little vaseline and slip the neck in from the outside. If you need the hose on the inside they have the correct item as well.

Do you mean through the cab, or where the tank comes through the floor? If it's through the floor, I haven't seen a gasket for that spot before, but if you mean the cab, then yes Roberts has it, and it fits very nicely.

A flat 1/8"-1/4" piece of rubber can be cut with a circle and a relief cut that can be placed on the cab floor. If you  don;t have remove the filler neck.

If you have to remove the filler neck then there are three concerns:

1. The hose (is it 4" dia. ? ) and correct clamps (must be done correctly unless after filling up, you enjoy the smell of gas on your journey.

2. The rubber grommet thru the cab.

3. The flat rubber piece on the floor that keeps mice out of US trucks and keeps Wombats and Snakes out of Davins UTE.

The one on the outside of the cab is available through Roberts.  Got mine years ago-fit fine and keeps the rain from running down the fill pipe

Wombats are a bit big Hank.... but snakes for sure! I was pulling parts from a truck in a parts yard out west with my Dad a few years back when we spotted a large red-bellied black snake crawling up into a larger Dodge truck parked beside the one we were working on. We have something like 18 of the top 20 most venomous snakes in the world here in Australia. I still recall us getting chased by that snake in Anza Borrego desert last year Hank... that was funny!!!

I'll be in Hawaii for the next couple of weeks, so won't have to worry about too many snakes there!

Think I'd have problems getting wifey to fly the extra distance Mark as she gets motion sickness quite bad. Probably not such a good thing as we will only be here in Waikiki for 3 days before boarding the Pride of America for an 8 day cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.
