52Suburban Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 For a 1952 suburban with radial 235/74-15 Current tires are not worn given several hundred miles, but I would like to make sure I'm not ruined my new wife whites I'm purchasing. Shop says specs are not in their computer. I found these http://www.allpar.com/photos/vintage/history-photos/alignment/alignment-specifications.gif Are they correct? Any other sources?? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 (edited) your hot link to allpar will not work..my repair manual has the specs in the book....while not considered radial tire tuning of the suspension, I am certain that it will meet your driving needs. A well organized front end shop would have aligned your car. I am thinking you need another opinion...look in front suspension section for said specs...only the tires are changed unless you have done other upgrades not mentioned here and thus the components and geometry should be applicable..carry your repair manual next time you go in... TodFitch Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 Your image link is not working, looks like AllPar is detecting and rejecting cross site image linking. I took a quick look at the AllPar site to see what page you saw that on and struck out. The 1946-54 Plymouth Factory Service Manual shows for 1952: Camber: -3/8 to +3/8 degrees Caster: -1 to +1 degree (0 preferred) Toe-in: 0 to 1/16 inch (0 preferred) King Pin Angle: 5 to 6 1/2 degrees Quote
Solution 52Suburban Posted July 7, 2015 Author Solution Report Posted July 7, 2015 OK - I am so often disappointed by the lack of info in my manual I avoid/forget to look - I was wrong second page of the suspension section has specs. the citation of the whole article is http://www.allpar.com/history/mopar/front-end-alignment.html Thanks for the info.... Turns out that the tech where I bought the coker tires can not even modify the computer it can only read from the database that starts in 1965. Called a friend who referred me to a shop that has been around before 52 and knows what there doing - problem solved Quote
