400mphpc
Hello, I'm a proud new owner of a 50 Dodge Wayfarer and looking for some technical advice about the brakes. I a, considering a disk brake conversion for the front and would like to know if any of you have used the ECI conversion package? http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/dodge_plymouth_discbrake_conversions.html Any help / advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. The car will stop but it drifts, pulls and before I spend hours getting into the investigation on my own, I just figured maybe if would be wiser to just replace the front with a more modern set up. Thanks in advance for the feedback, Chris
martybose
I've got the full ECI front brake and mastercylinder conversion package on my 47, and found them much superior to the stock brakes. That said, there are a number of us who have felt that the ECI mastercylinder package could have been done better, and have modified them. There are several threads detailing this, including one where Don and I documented modifications. Marty
Barabbas
I too, have the full ECI package--I'm happy with it, it stops straight and true after 7,000 miles---but be aware that you will have to get new wheels..the original equipment wheels will not clear the calipers
400mphpc
Thanks Guys, is there a kit that is complete that does not require a wheel swap?
mopar_earl
Aaj brakes is suppose to have front and rear disc kits as well as a dual circuit master cylinder. But info is very limited. I emailed him but he never replied.

falconvan
Factory Ford Explorer brakes work pretty well as is an easy swap. Just have to have a CNC place cut some brackets to mount the calipers. I had mine cut for a little over $100.

nonstop
I used the Scarebird disc kit and kept my 15s with a slight grind on the caliper.
casper50
I have used scarebird fronts and AAJ rears. Both let the original rims work.
