Hi - new guy here. I am resurrecting a 52 ply bus coupe and am about ready to install a new fuel tank. I have the correct 2 1/4 " fuel hose. The old clamps on the fuel hose are a much more positive clamping design vs the everyday stainless screw clamp I'd use on a heater or radiator hose.

My question - when you replaced your tank did you reuse or buy a new version of the old style clamp or did you use a modern stainless screw clamp ? My old clamps cleaned up pretty well, and appear service-able.

Thanks

these have only to seal rubber to tube...properly ventilated there is no pressure....flat worm drive clamps of modern vintage will suffice...if you want original..clean up your older ones carefully...put a faux parkerized finish on them and let the big dog eat..

Rustoleum now has a rust stop finish that sprays on and dries black that is a good coating and would help protect your cleaning of the clamp

You can buy new "corbin" clamps.. ebay or elsewhere.

IMO they are the read deal and clamp better than the typical modern light duty import sourced worm drives. There are special pliers to R&R them too.

dual wire loop clamps were common to the tanks on the cars of this era per the examples  I have at the house..look to this general listing  to find what size you wish...

Tim is 100% right!

Dual wire clamps were used at least thru 1954.

I think 1955/6 and later MoPar cars used the corbin clamps on the gas tank filler pipes and engine hoses.

I need to quit posting erroneous info
