The bed or box can easily add 1500 lbs or more to a bare frame truck. Add another mininum 1000 lbs for a tilt bed or dump box frame and lift cylinder assembly.

Also moving companies have scales.

I just shipped a 35 Dodge 1 1/2 ton truck without bed, 3,300 lbs.

Any number of truck stops have certified scales.  If you're brave, you can also try the DOT inspection sites on the interstates.  Gravel and rock quarries, grain elevators, feed and fertilizer plants, some of the older lumber yards that sold coal.  There are a lot of places that require scales.
