I didn't look that close to see if grinding the calipers would allow them to fit. It may of may not. The rim was about a 1/4" from seating against the rotor.

that 1/4 might as well have been 10 feet....I knew that when I built the bz cp that I would be going modern front suspension and based on what I had done int he past I traded for a nice set of alloys that I thought would be ideal on the car.  Flash forward..the donor I used based on the earlier frame design for grafting was equipped with rotors a bit larger than 12 inch diameter...NO WAY a 15 of any design would fit...enter the 16's of modern design that I happened to have on hand for test fit and found a complete set of for dirt cheap....so..yeah..surprises do arise..

those wheels can be used on a number of other cars I have on the place..so never a loss...always upward and onward..

Also everyone utilizing these kits NEED to report back to the company so changes can be made in the production, instructions or advertising.  DO not just say it did not work...provide factual data as to what was wrong and if you come about a workaround...include that.  Help build the better mousetrap.  I have provided feedback to a couple companies that did result in advertisement changes.  The community can work together albeit it painful at times.

I have a good feeling ECI knows they won't fit. But you do have a good point. If they would have fit, I would have bought everything from ECI because its such a nicely done turn key deal.

I have no regrets with what I am using but ECI gets so dang close....

Plydo instructions. Grind away.

Which is why I did not go with the AAJ brackets. It was a significant grind I wasn't comfortable with.  Charlies brackets simply fit. No grinding. A little spindle hole enlargement and tapping, but no spindle surface grinding.

There are a ton of late model alloys to choose from.  The 5 on 4.5 is very common and getting even more common in J cars.  The wheel from mid 90's or so forward are expressed in metric and the 114.3mm will attest...only thing about metric is the stupidity of it all...and that is only due to the old farts like us cutting our teeth on the SAE of the inch, foot yard, mile etc..if we grew up with it..common hat stuff for sure..

back to the late alloys...just watch the backset as majority are quote positive in that respect....I am a sucker for 5 spokers...Mopar has a good selection in 15, 16 and 17 inch with the 4.5 pattern...only the later wheels have gone to 5 and 5.5 circle...

these I have for the 48 bz cp..these are 6.5 width with 16 diameter....the 8.0 widths of similar design are still same backset...maybe a +1/8 difference only..all the extra width is to the outside of the rim..

The 1994 Lincoln Town car aluminum rims fit great. Plenty of room around the brakes and the car itself.

Any pics of what it looks like with them mounted?

Hopefully tomorrow. But I will have to wait till I can use a computer as I don't see a way to upload pics from my cell to the forum.

We spent the weekend installing the ECI front disc and the dual circuit master kits. We installed everything doing a mockup and than addressed fit issues.

*Had to enlarge one of the master cylinder bracket mounting holes as it wasn't lined up with the frame.

*Had to shave some metal off the top of the master bracket as it was hitting against the floor brace.

*Had to shave some metal off the one caliper bracket as the hub was very close to it.

*Added a brake pedal stop tab for the pedal stop adjusting bolt to the master bracket.

*Had to make and install front brake hose support brackets to hold the brake hoses away from the tires.

We than ran all new nicopp lines. Welded bolts to the frame and mounted a GM combination valve. Installed a new rear brake hose and wheel cylinders. Adjusted the rear brakes best we could. We than pulled everything off and painted all parts. We installed everything and used dot 5 fluid and bled the system out.

Other than the minor issues listed above, the kits were great and the quality of parts and welds were great. Car has brakes for the first time in over 15 years. No more using the parking brake as service brakes. Lol

I did take lots of pics. Sometime when I have a chance, I will do a post on the install with pics.
