What sort of attaching hardware is on the back side of the skirts?

Here's a set of aftermarket skirts on eBay...........*****NOTE.......these are NOT for a P15.....only using as

an example of the mounting system.

In other words.....you have to have something to go behind the top edge of the wheel opening, as well as something to hold them at each end.

If there are no mounting items, then you will need to become inventive.  I made my own attaching pieces which were so-so.......then secured each

end of the skirt with a very small sheet metal screw painted to match the car.  Works for me.......but not everyone may like that method.  You hardly

notice the screw heads.

Weren't they mounted in your "lowering" thread?

I also have another pair of skirts........made of fiberglass............they have yet another mounting system.....and go in

under the lip of the fender opening, rather than overlay the opening.

Just showing them as another alternative that's out there..................

Where did you get those fiberglass skirts? I'm trying to find a pair just like those.

I can't safely lower the rear end (scrub line) so I'm just going to make it look clean with skirts.

those skirts are pretty common style and to me the better style..the actual fender lip is what the skirts locks to about the perimeter...I found my set on E-bay...right at Christmas when folks were buying everything but car parts...

You can safely lower the rear of your car without "scrub line" issues, just not cheaply (key word). I used Posies Super Slider 3" lowered rear springs, removed 2 leaves, & added 1" lowering blocks. The ride is a little hard, but for as much as I drive it, I can deal with it. Page 44 in the following link: http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014-Posies-Cat-PROOF-4-4-14.pdf

Plymouthy....I agree completely. The ones that sit on top (in my opinion) just look like an after thought. I did search all over eBay with no luck tonight. Those fiberglass skirts are just beautiful.

Deathbound, thank you for the link. Lol yes cheaply is my biggest factor at this point. Maybe later on down the road I'll do it right. For now though, stock it's staying. I'm not gonna risk anything just to be a couple inches lower right now.

I have steel skirts & the hardware is mostly steel rods that flex to get them clipped on. The top rod is a lever that latches at the bottom, against the skirt itself.

This pic looks funny because there's a big wad of plastic tape on the top of the rod which kept it from digging into the fender.

There's a nasty shadow on this pic, but it give a better perspective on the latching rod.
