Fernando Mendes Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Today I tightened my loose cab insulators. One tight(front right),three loose(two rear and front left).I think they are loose since 1987 when I bought my PU. Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Probably. They should be checked from time to time as things like this tend to settle and compress. I just went over the bed bolts on my truck. I had replaced everything with new about a year ago. Quite a few of the bolts took at least a 1/4 turn and some even more. Again best to check from time to time. Jeff Quote
Geekay Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Excuse my ignorance but what are Cab Insulators? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 should have read isolators as in the isolation rubber mounting which prevents metal to metal when you connect the cab to the frame supports...do be careful here when tightening..they are to be taken to a set torque value (low torque might I add) so as not to distort the body causing misalignment of doors etc... Jeff Balazs Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Fernando; I am not surprised........I would bet most of these trucks have at least a few loose ones back there. Nature of the beast as the saying goes. Jeff Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 Yes Jeff, some of my bed bolts were so loose that I had to give two turns. Quote
