RobertKB Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks for posting. At least she was not on any paintwork. I say she as all tortoise shell/calico cats are female. Favourite cat I ever had was a tortoise shell. Great big, fat, old cat we called Moppet. She had the sweetest disposition and lived to be 20! Quote
Niel Hoback Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 There are male calico cats but they are very rare and worth a lot of $$$. 1 Quote
RobertKB Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) There are male calico cats but they are very rare and worth a lot of $$$. Thanks Niel, I learned something today............there are male calicos but as you mentioned, they are rare. Also from Wikipedia "Because genetic determination of some coat colors in cats is linked to the X chromosome, calicoes are nearly always female.[ Because of the genetics involved, calico males are rare, and generally have impaired vitality and are almost always sterile." I love Off Topic. Also, notice the cat is on the running board so gets some nice heat from both it and the body of the car. Cats love the warmth. Edited November 15, 2014 by RobertKB Quote
Niel Hoback Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 I picture her jumping on the running board, grabbing the window frame and yelling "Follow that car"! Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Ahh. Snoozing on running boards, not just for getting in and out of your car...... 2 Quote
