Ok guys, we've been working on a 1948 Ford F-1 pickup with a 1979 400 CI Ford and a C-6. We had it running about a year ago, have had it in the shop, and tried to start it. Replaced starter and solenoid, and discovered that flex plate teeth were broken off. Replaced flex plate, bolted starter back in, and it would turn over, but not start. Took starter back and got a new one, will barely turn over to begin with, and now wont turn over at all. Took fan off, and tried to turn over with two foot extension, wont budge. Dropped transmission and exposed torque converter and flex plate, still wont budge!!! Do you guys have any insight in it, or do we just need to pull the engine?!? I know it isnt a Mopar, but you guys have been very knowledgable and helpful in the past.

Maybe pull the plugs and try turning over by hand. Can you turn it backwards? If that doesn't work, I'd suggest removal so it can be inspected and worked on properly. You can do a better job of both, easier and sometimes faster than fighting with it in the truck.

I would think the folks on a Ford forum could help more so than here.

I know, but I am not currently a member of any other forums, and thought one of you gents might have a few suggestions.
