pflaming Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 My cousin sent me this. The 'green' car and kids was their car. Picture taken in San Jose, CA. Can you name make, model, and year of the cars? Quote
greg g Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) 41/42 pontiac probably streamliner with all the stainless. The gold and white one is a 55/56 Pontiac, chieftan and the yellow white is a 55/56 Flord country squire. Edited May 28, 2014 by greg g Quote
pflaming Posted May 28, 2014 Author Report Posted May 28, 2014 I'm thinking the blue Pontiac is a 51/52. Those little girls were born in the late 40's Quote
GlennCraven Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 The blue Streamliner Torpedo is definitely earlier than 1950s. By 1948 most of that chrome was gone, the three strips on the front fender particularly. In 1948 the Streamliner was down to one strip on the front fender. The taillights also became rounded in 1948. It could be a '46 or '47 because those, like most American cars, were essentially holdovers from the pre-war offerings of 1941. But the paint looks worn enough to me that it could be a '41. The Chieftain in the middle is definitely a '56 -- the only year with the three-piece hood (with seams covered by wide chrome strips) AND the big chrome bumper "nipples" or torpedoes or whatever you'd call 'em. Ford chrome strips seem to vary by model and trim level, but the '55-'56 range on the wagon seems about right. Quote
BigDaddyO Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Big chrome bumper thingys were called 'Dagmars'. 2 Quote
