Im looking for a Gyromatic transmission for a 1950 Dodge Coronet or a repair manual. The Dodge is all original and has 47.xxx miles. My gearbox in mine is making a clicking noise and I cant find a repair shop in my area. Any help would be great. Thanks

Since you mention you are looking for a transmission OR repair manual, I assume you will be open to suggestions on how to repair your existing. And this thread can serve for that. And 48mirage has already gotten the ball rolling on that.

If you had only asked for a transmission, I'd have to ask you to repost in the classified section. . .

clicking noise is typical as solenoids provide for shifting and a governor controls the speed at which the solenoid can be activated. The Imperial club documents should help you understand where the noise might be coming from and how it effects the transmissions operation. Most faults in these transmissions are within the controls rather than the mechanics. They are basically bulletproof except for the controls, and most of these can be traced to bad connections and or contact points in need of maintenance.
